About
this site.

A place to read about a holiday with very little on the agenda.

Why this website exists

National Nothing Day is an independent website about the January 16 observance. We explain its history, leave a little room for doing nothing, and offer a permission slip you can print for fun.

The website was created and is operated by Mundroff Computers LLC, based in the United States. The company manages this website and is the contact for questions about its content and privacy practices.

The day and the website

The day dates to 1973. This website is a modern tribute to that idea. It does not represent Harold Pullman Coffin, his estate, a government agency, or an official holiday authority.

Read the history of National Nothing Day, visit the quiet room, or make a permission slip.

Sources and corrections

The history page links to its sources, including archived newspapers and reports about the observance. Historical facts and our commentary appear together there, with source links so you can check the record yourself.

If you spot an error, send the page address, the detail you believe is wrong, and a source we can check to info@nationalnothingday.org.

Contact and privacy

Our contact page lists the addresses for general questions, privacy requests, and security concerns. The privacy policy explains the site's analytics and data handling.
